Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Lima Petro Refinery collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit our website, request a quotation, place an order, or otherwise interact with us. We treat the privacy of our customers, partners and visitors as a matter of trust — and only collect information that we genuinely need to do business with you.

01 Who we are

Lima Petro Refinery ("Lima Petro", "we", "us", "our") operates a refining facility in Aradan, Iran, with a head office in Tehran and a strategic trading network including partners in the UAE, India and Turkey. We are the data controller for personal information collected through our website, email, sales channels and commercial correspondence.

02 Information we collect

We collect personal and business information in three ways:

a) Information you provide directly

  • Name, job title and the company you represent.
  • Business email, phone number and country.
  • Shipping addresses, port of discharge and customs documentation details.
  • Bank details and tax/VAT identifiers required for invoicing and shipping.
  • Any other information you choose to share in correspondence, quotation requests, contracts or technical questions.

b) Information we collect automatically

  • Approximate location (country / region) inferred from your IP address.
  • Device and browser information (browser type, operating system, screen size, language).
  • Pages visited, datasheets downloaded, time on page and referring website.

c) Information from third parties

  • Commercial references and credit information from banks, business directories and trade-finance providers, where relevant to a transaction.
  • Information from our trading partners and freight forwarders in the UAE, India and Turkey, where required to coordinate shipments.
  • Sanctions, export-control and AML screening data from compliance-screening providers.

We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data (such as racial origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health data, or biometric data) through our website.

03 How we use information

We use personal information only for clearly defined business purposes, including:

  • Legal obligation: complying with tax, accounting, sanctions, export-control and other regulatory requirements.

05 Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the limited categories of recipients listed below, and only where necessary:

  • Trading partners: our affiliated trading offices and agents in the UAE, India and Turkey, where they coordinate orders or shipments destined for their region.
  • Freight forwarders and shipping lines: for the preparation of transport documents and Bills of Lading.
  • Banks: for invoicing, payment processing and Letter-of-Credit operations.
  • Customs, port and inspection authorities: as required by law in the country of loading, transit or destination.
  • Professional advisors: our auditors, accountants, lawyers and insurance providers, under confidentiality obligations.
  • IT and infrastructure providers: our website hosting, email and document-storage providers, acting as our processors.
  • Government and law-enforcement authorities: where we are legally required to disclose information.

06 International transfers

Because we operate from Iran with trading partners in the UAE, India and Turkey, and serve customers across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, your information may be transferred to, stored or processed in countries outside your own.

When we make such transfers, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information receives an appropriate level of protection through contractual safeguards, confidentiality undertakings and access controls.

07 Cookies & analytics

Our website uses a small number of essential cookies and, where enabled, basic analytics cookies. Cookies are short text files stored on your device that help a website remember preferences and measure usage.

08 Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this Policy, and to comply with our legal, accounting and reporting obligations.

  • Quotation enquiries: typically up to 24 months from last contact.
  • Customer accounts and order records: for the duration of the relationship and afterwards, in line with applicable tax and commercial-law retention periods (typically up to 10 years).
  • Compliance screening records: in line with sanctions, AML and export-control regulations.
  • Website analytics: aggregated data is retained for trend analysis; individual session identifiers are kept for a much shorter period.

Once retention is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise the data.

09 Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure and accidental loss. These include access controls on internal systems, encrypted email where appropriate, secure document storage, regular backups and confidentiality undertakings from our staff and partners.

Honest disclaimer

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is fully secure. While we apply industry-standard safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security and ask that you also take reasonable precautions when sharing sensitive commercial information.

10 Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete information that is no longer needed, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your information.

  • Portability — request your information in a structured, commonly used format, where technically feasible.

11 Children's privacy

Our website and products are intended for business and industrial customers. They are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so that we can delete it.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites — for example, social-media profiles or partner sites. Those websites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content or their treatment of your information. Please review the privacy policies of any third-party site before sharing personal data with it.
